the SLO photos!!

Thanks to Steve Weixel (see link on this site), there are now PHOTOS of my race! There are actually HUNDREDS, although I'm only going to post a few here. I'm sure Steve's site will have many more excellent ones from ALL the races!

Going up the 'hill' (not really sure I can call that grade a 'hill' but it was slightly not flat).

I clearly look faster than I am here....

more bike racing...

And more bike racing...from another angle.

My teammate, Ginger, looking fast!

My turn at the front, 2 laps from the finish.

I hated to miss this race. I've done it in years past and always had fun.

I heard from numerous people that everything was first class. except for the spectators...too few.

I'd like to see them hold this race late on a Saturday. Way more people would be there to watch. Closing downtown would be just like on Thursday? nights....people would still go downtown....

it really was a fun race. I hope they have it next year. The spectators seemed to max out mid-day. I think they could really make an event of it on a Saturday afternoon...it was a super fun course, and was run really well. The only sad part was that they ran the womens 3/4 race together, and because the pace was speedy, all but 7 of the 26(?) women 4 starters were able to finish. The rest were lapped/pulled... I felt bad for them, as getting pulled out of a race is not the best way to boost morale as a beginner!

Great pics. Sorry we missed the fun, but I have suggested we get it on next years calendar (assuming they get it together for next year).

I hope they told folks before the start that they were pulling riders. Not knowing that would happen and then getting pulled is what really upset Ms. Chatterbox at the Lafayette crit.

Kim-

I can't find those pictures on Steve's blog or gallery. Where did you get them? Good to see you there and see you next year!(assuming your not coming down to SoCal for some Crit action this weekend...)

FINALLY got some pictures up on my blog. The problem with taking so many pictures in RAW is that takes forever to go through them.

alicat: Yes, I'm racing the 3s at San Ardo! I'd love to meet you there, too! Also...do you do the University RR the next day in Santa Cruz? Just curious about that one as well, since I'll be 'heading north'.
