I am not a rider of a bike, but I am a rider of life, which is the same and not the same all at once.

This post made me think of the words I take comfort in when I feel that my best eludes me. Karen Maezen Miller wrote it in a post of hers:

"My teacher Nyogen Roshi is fond of quoting his teacher, Maezumi Roshi, who said something like, 'It is impossible not to do your best. You just don’t think it’s your best.' Every moment arises pure and perfect from conditions as they are. From you, as you are. Our judgment alone, our ego mind, distinguishes best from less, gain from loss and new from old. Judgment alone separates us from the fulfillment we think lies just beyond the precipice of time.'

It always helps me to read this - helps me rest from my struggles. Hope it provides something good for you too.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2032407315425429714.post-80929108908662780622012-02-16T10:30:51.036-08:002012-02-16T10:30:51.036-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
